Application of knowledge (work package 3)
Purpose: To conduct intervention studies and implement new methods for rational antibiotic use, and establish a national collaboration for clinical studies.
The main objective of Work package 3 is to apply existing knowledge on how antibiotics should be used optimally in healthcare. Besides the direct benefit for the patient, the project also contributes to strengthening national cooperation in clinical research.
What we are working with right now:
- In collaboration with STRAMA (that has a important role in workroutines for rational prescription of antibiotics nationally in Sweden) has invented so called antibiotic rounds in the hospitals where specialists within infectious diseases gives advise for a individualized treatment.
- Collaboration with the newly founded research network ACTION Sweden, where there is representatives from Infectious diseases clinics from every University hospital. Our ambition is to create a lasting platform for clinical studies that can collaborate in test- and demonstrations of diffetent solutions of complex healthissues in a real enviroment. The network can operate as a "single entry point" for randomised studies in the future.
- We are evaluating the clinical implementation of a new method for modelbased precision dosing of vancomycin.
