Work package 1 – Inventory of knowledge gaps, prioritization and consequences of shortages of current antibiotics.

Purpose: To identify knowledge gaps and map the need of various antibiotics in the Swedish context.

The selection of subprojects and studies conducted within PLATINEA is based on identified prioritized knowledge gaps in the national inventory of need that was conducted in a cooperation between PLATINEA and the Public Health Agency of Sweden (PHAS) in 2020. A renewed inventory will be done within work package 1. Through interaction with prescribers, each antibiotic will be mapped out regarding its place and therapeutic importance for different patient groups (e.g., children and patients with multiresistant bacterial infections). This mapping will build the base for work package 4.
